The ruins of Ain Dara are beautifully situated on a hill overlooking the fertile Afrin valley near the Turkish frontier.

There were found ruins dating back to the neo-Hittitian period from the early first century BC. Two remarkable lions, sculptured out of black basalt, will greet you first.

Lions and sphinxes line the road, too. You must not miss Ain Dara, because of both its two thousand years old history and its overwhelming surroundings.
