This province town was founded by the Seleucids by 300 BC and became particularly important under Roman rule during the conflict between the Romans and the Parthians.

There is a unique built-in theatre constructed in the slope. Remains of stone-mason works testify the former magnificence.

The mausoleum of "Sheikh Nabi Huri", buried in the ground-floor in a metallic coffin, has been completely preserved. Wonderful and impressive round view from the upper floor.
